Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity is the cost of entry. Getting the best team means getting people with as many different life experiences as humanly and operationally possible. Regardless, diversity is simply a buzz word when it does not come with meaningful commitment to inclusion, equity, belonging, justice, and liberation.

Inclusion: We are personally and spiritually responsible for bringing our full selves to the work of healing racism and other forms of oppression. My facilitation emphasizes this as the basis of working to ensure everyone in a group, team, or organization is included.

Equity and Belonging.

Equity: Everyone has different needs, given intersecting identities and experiences, at different points in life. Policies, procedures, and practices need to have this notion at its foundation.

Belonging: A shared sense of purpose comes from many things, including a sense that everyone’s presence is valued because everyone can be shown how their work contributes directly to and is objectively aligned with our vision, mission, and goals.

And belonging is enhanced for everyone connected to you (employees, stake holders, customers, etc) when you are demonstrably committed to justice and liberation in the wider world, taking steps to advance these within your field.
